Beet root powder can be used as a natural soap colourant. In cold process soap making, it will produce a squash yellow to earthy brown colour. In rebatch soap making, it will produce a deeper red color.

Beet root powder is also used in skin care products, such as facial masks. Add beet root powder to blushes and lip balms, adjusting the amount necessary to achieve the desired tint.

Not for Lip Balm

Beet root powder is a lovely pink red colour and I was looking forward to using it in my lip balm recipe. The problem is that the powder doesn't dissolve in oil and leaves the lip balm gritty. It's much better used in a lip gloss. I will stick to using the beautiful mica powders in my lip balm.
