Lotus Blossom Swirl Soaps

These delecate soaps were made using all natural Melt and Pour that we coloured and swirled in the mold. They are cuper cute and would look great as a guest soap in a bathroom! Here is what you need to make 5 soaps:

Various Micas
Denatured Alcohol for spritzing

Instructions:

   1. Prepare your work space. You'll need several glass measuring cups or microwaveable containers and a large clean workspace lined with paper towel or newspaper.

   2. To start, melt your soap base in the microwave or double boiler. We separated the clear soap into 4 batches for 4 different colours. Once the soap base is melted, add the micas of your choice and stir well.

   3. Add about half a teaspoon of fragrance to your soap, dividing it between the batches.

   4. When the soap has cooled until all the batches are right around 130-135 degrees, you can start to pour one colour of soap into the cavity of the mold. If you don't have a thermometer the soap should feel warm to the touch but not too hot to keep your hand on the bottom of the measuring cup.

   5. We many different techniques for pouring, most of them starting with the white soap first. We found that the white melt and pour soap is slightly more buoyant than the clear, so it has a tendency to float to the top. One swirling method is to pour the colours directly on top of one another, another method is to swirl the soap in the mold as you pour. Have fun with it! There's no right or wrong way to swirl the soap. Repeat this method with each of the cavities until there's no more soap. Spritz the top layer with denatured alcohol after you're done pouring to eliminate any bubbles on the surface.

   6. Wait 24 hours to allow your soaps to harden, then take them out of the mold. If they stick, place the mold in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before trying again.

There you have it! 5 lovely, shimmery lotus soaps.
