Labels for finished product
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare Phase A (Surfactants)
- Place your clean mixing bowl or measuring cup on the scale. Weigh in: 170g AS-40, 150g Plantapon SF, 100g Cocamidopropyl Betaine. Gently stir with a fork, whisk or spatula until the mixture becomes a thick, uniform paste. Do not whip or overmix to avoid foaming.
Step 2: Add Phase B Ingredients
- Directly into the same container, weigh and add: 170g distilled water, 100g witch hazel, 160g chamomile floral water, 30g blueberry liquid extract, 30g glycerin, 50g Dragon’s Blood liquid extract, 20g Fision® HydraTress, 10g polyquaternium-11, 5g Germall Plus (preservative). Mix again gently until fully incorporated and smooth
Step 3: Fragrance & Colour (Optional)
- Add 5g fragrance or essential oil (e.g. all natural Blue Basil and Sage Fragrance Oil). A few drops of jewel tone liquid colourant (if desired). Mix once more until uniform.
Step 4: Let It Settle
- Allow the mixture to sit for 15–20 minutes. This helps bubbles rise and lets you properly assess the thickness. If the shampoo is too thin, begin thickening by adding 0.25% (2.5g) fine salt, stir gently, and let sit. If needed, add another 0.25% (2.5g)—do not exceed 0.5% total or the shampoo may become watery.
Step 5: Package Your Product
- Using a funnel, fill two 16oz plastic bottles with your finished shampoo. Label clearly with ingredients, fragrance, usage, and date of manufacture.
How to Use:
Apply 1–2 pumps to wet hair, lather gently into scalp and hair, then rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner if desired.
Usage & Safety Notes:
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use glass packaging in the shower.
