Ingredients (130g Batch – fills one 4oz jar)

  • 91g Sugar (white or golden sugar works fine)
  • 33g Sweet Almond Oil (or grapeseed/fractionated coconut oil)
  • 4g Polysorbate 80 (helps mica or glitter rinse cleanly off skin)
  • 2g Fragrance Oil
Optional: tiny pinch of gold shimmer mica

Tools Needed

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or small spatula
  • Small scale
  • 4oz shallow jars or small clear ornaments that open in half
  • Labels, ribbon, or small gift tags

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • Step 1: Place the sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the sweet almond oil and stir gently. Mix until the sugar and oil feel like soft, slightly damp cookie dough.
Tip: If it feels too dry, add a tiny bit more oil. If too wet, sprinkle in a little more sugar.

  • Step 2: Add the Polysorbate 80 to the sugar-oil mixture. Stir well until fully incorporated. This helps mica or glitter disperse evenly and rinse off easily during use.

  • Step 3: Measure and add the fragrance or essential oil. Stir thoroughly so the scent is evenly distributed throughout the scrub.

  • Step 4: If desired, sprinkle in a tiny pinch of gold mica or biodegradable glitter. Gently fold it in so the scrub has a subtle sparkle like sugar on cookies.

  • Step 5: Spoon the scrub into your jar or ornament carefully. Press gently to remove air pockets and fill to the top. Seal the jar or ornament tightly.

Packaging Ideas

  • Tie a ribbon around the lid or neck of the jar/ornament.
  • Add a small gift tag that says “Made with Love – Cookie Coma Sugar Scrub”.
  • Clear ornaments let the scrub colour and sparkles shine — perfect for gift-giving.
  • Kids can decorate with stickers or draw on tags for a personal touch.
