Stephenson Natural Transparent Melt & Pour Soap
Creates beautifully clear soap with excellent colour clarity, making it perfect for embedding natural loofah and creating colourful swirl designs. Its high-foaming, 99.9% natural formulation allows the vibrant apple colours and loofah to remain clearly visible while producing a gentle, skin-loving bar.
Crisp Apple Fragrance Oil
This Fragrance captures the refreshing scent of freshly picked apples, bringing a clean, fruity aroma that's perfect for fall-inspired projects. With 0% vanillin, it helps maintain bright colours without causing discoloration over time.
Mica Colourants
Citron, Italiano Rose, and Hunter Green Micas recreate the classic colours of a fresh apple. Citron and Italiano Rose create the apple swirl, while Hunter Green adds the finishing leaf detail.
Isopropyl Alcohol
Is an essential tool for Melt & Pour Soap making. It removes surface bubbles, helps disperse mica colourants, and promotes better adhesion whenever multiple pours are required.
Loofah Slice - 7/8” thick
Natural loofah adds gentle exfoliation while creating a unique embedded design. As the soap is used, the loofah provides light exfoliation that's perfect for hands and body, making this project as functional as it is beautiful.
Instructions:

Step 1: Cut the Stephenson Natural Transparent Melt & Pour Soap Base into small cubes and divide it into three measuring cups. Place approximately 95 g into two measuring cups for the apple and 10 g into a third measuring cup for the leaf.

Step 2:Heat the two measuring cups containing 95 g of soap in the microwave using 10 to 15 second intervals, stirring between each interval until fully melted. Mix the Citron Mica and Italiano Rose Mica separately with a small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol before adding each colour to one of the melted soap bases. Stir until evenly dispersed.

Step 3: Divide the Crisp Apple Fragrance Oil evenly between the two coloured soap bases and stir gently until thoroughly combined.

Step 4: Place one natural loofah slice into each cavity of the Apple Silicone Soap Mold. If necessary, trim the loofah with a knife so it fits comfortably inside the mold without extending above the edges.

Step 5: Slowly pour the yellow soap into the red soap and give the mixture one gentle stir. Avoid overmixing to preserve the natural apple-like swirl.

Step 6: Carefully pour the swirled soap into each mold cavity, covering the loofah completely. Spray the surface with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any bubbles. Allow the soaps to set for approximately 1 hour.

Step 7: Once fully set, carefully remove the small leaf insert from each cavity using a soap detailing tool.

Step 8: Melt the remaining 10 g of Stephenson Natural Transparent Melt & Pour Soap Base. Mix the Hunter Green Mica with a small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol before stirring it into the melted soap.

Step 9: Spray the leaf cavity with Isopropyl Alcohol before carefully filling it with the green soap. Finish with another light spray of Isopropyl Alcohol to eliminate surface bubbles.

Step 10: Allow the soaps to cool completely before gently removing them from the silicone mold.

Step 11: Your Crisp Apple Exfoliating Loofah Melt & Pour Soaps are ready to use or package immediately. Since Melt & Pour Soap does not require curing, your finished soaps can be enjoyed right away.
Tips for Success

Heat Melt & Pour Soap in short 10 to 15 second intervals to avoid overheating, which can reduce clarity and increase the likelihood of glycerin dew.

Mix mica with a small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol before adding it to the melted soap for smoother, more even colour.

For the most realistic apple appearance, stir the red and yellow soaps only once before pouring. Overmixing will blend the colours together instead of creating a soft swirl.

Spray Isopropyl Alcohol after every pour to remove unwanted bubbles and create a smooth surface.

Package finished soaps soon after unmolding in shrink wrap or plastic wrap to help prevent glycerin dew caused by humidity.
Advanced Maker Notes

Keep the loofah centered. If the loofah is too thick or sits above the soap surface, trim it slightly before placing it into the mold. This ensures it remains fully embedded for a cleaner finished appearance.

Avoid overheating the soap. Soap that becomes too hot can lose clarity, develop excess sweating, or shrink slightly as it cools. Heat only until just melted.

Choose fragrances carefully. Fragrance Oils containing vanillin can gradually discolor Melt & Pour Soap, often turning it tan or brown over time. Crisp Apple Fragrance Oil contains 0% vanillin, making it an excellent choice for maintaining bright, vibrant colours.

Avoid dried botanicals. While dried flowers and herbs may look attractive initially, the glycerin in Melt & Pour Soap can rehydrate them over time, leading to discoloration or mold. Embedded loofah is a durable, functional alternative that holds up beautifully in finished soap.
