Featured Ingredients:

Stephenson Triple Butter Melt & Pour Soap
Stephenson Triple Butter Melt & Pour Soap creates the creamy, opaque foundation for these winter-inspired snowflake bars. This vegetable-derived soap base is made with a luxurious blend of shea butter, cocoa butter and mango butter, combining three natural butters in an easy-to-use Melt & Pour base.
Its high glycerin content contributes to a moisturizing, pleasant skin feel, while its naturally opaque appearance creates the soft white background that makes the sparkling snowflake details stand out beautifully. The creamy base also provides an ideal canvas for the reflective White Diamonds Mica used throughout this project.

Wild Glacier Fragrance Oil
Wild Glacier Fragrance Oil brings a crisp, outdoors-inspired scent to these icy snowflake soaps. Bright glacier mint, lime, wild sweet orange and mountain herbs lead into notes of juniper berry, jasmine and fresh pine sap, finishing with earthy ambrette, vetiver and cedar.
The combination of cool mountain air, evergreen notes and woodland warmth pairs beautifully with the winter snowflake design. Wild Glacier Fragrance Oil also contains 0% vanillin, helping preserve the clean, light appearance that is important to this project.
This formulation uses Wild Glacier Fragrance Oil at approximately 2.6%, below its current 3.16% IFRA maximum for soap.

Super Sparkle White Diamonds Mica
Super Sparkle White Diamonds Mica gives these soaps their frosty, light-catching finish. This sparkling white mica is blended with biodegradable glitter and has a larger 200–700 µm particle size, producing a more noticeable reflective sparkle than a traditional fine mica.
In this project, White Diamonds is used in two different ways. A small amount is dry-brushed directly into the snowflake mold to emphasize the intricate surface details, while additional mica is dispersed in isopropyl alcohol and incorporated into the melted soap for subtle shimmer throughout each bar.
The result is a dimensional sparkling effect that resembles light reflecting across freshly fallen snow.

99% Isopropyl Alcohol
99% Isopropyl Alcohol serves several useful purposes when working with Melt & Pour soap. In this project, it is used to disperse the Super Sparkle White Diamonds Mica before
adding it to the melted soap, helping distribute the sparkling particles more evenly.A light spritz over the freshly poured soap also helps break surface bubbles, creating a smoother finish without obscuring the detailed snowflake design.
Isopropyl alcohol is an especially useful tool to keep on hand for Melt & Pour soap making, as it can also be used between layers to improve adhesion and with compatible micas to create decorative mica paints.

Instructions:

Step 1: Weigh 227 g of Stephenson Triple Butter Melt & Pour Soap and cut it into small, evenly sized cubes. Place the soap into a heat-safe measuring cup.
Smaller, evenly sized pieces help the base melt more consistently and reduce the amount of heating required.

Step 2: Melt the soap in the microwave using short 10–15 second intervals, stirring gently between each interval until just melted. Avoid boiling or overheating the soap.
Once completely liquid, add 6 g of Wild Glacier Fragrance Oil and stir gently until thoroughly incorporated.

Step 3: While the soap is melting, use a clean, dry fine paint brush to lightly brush approximately 1 scoop (0.15 cc) of Super Sparkle White Diamonds Mica across the detailed surface of the snowflake mold cavities.
Concentrate the mica around the snowflake details rather than applying a heavy, solid coating. The mica will transfer to the surface of the soap when it is unmolded, highlighting the intricate design with a sparkling finish.

Step 4: In a small mixing cup, disperse approximately 2 scoops (0.15 cc each) of Super Sparkle White Diamonds Mica in a small amount of 99% isopropyl alcohol.
Add the dispersed mica to the melted soap and stir gently until evenly distributed.

Step 5: Slowly pour the melted soap into each prepared mold cavity.
To help avoid disturbing the dry-brushed mica, pour gently over the back of a spoon, spatula or stir stick rather than pouring directly onto the detailed surface of the mold.
Spritz the freshly poured soap lightly with isopropyl alcohol to remove any surface bubbles.
Allow the soaps to cool and harden completely for approximately 2 hours.

Step 6: Once completely cool and firm, carefully release the snowflakes from the mold.
Because Milky Way molds are rigid plastic rather than flexible silicone, gently pull the mold away from the edges of the soap where possible before gradually applying pressure to the back of each cavity. Work around the soap rather than forcing it out from one point to help protect the detailed snowflake design.

Step 7: Your Glittery Snowflake Melt & Pour Soaps are ready to use!
Melt & Pour soap is already fully saponified and does not require curing, so the finished bars can be used as soon as they have completely hardened.
If they will not be used immediately, package the bars in plastic or shrink wrap to protect them from humidity and help minimize glycerin dew.

Tips for Success

Don't Overheat the Soap
Melt the base only until it becomes fully liquid. Excessive heating can cause unnecessary moisture loss and may contribute to changes in the finished texture or appearance.

Use a Light Hand With the Mica
The dry-brushed mica should enhance the molded snowflake pattern rather than completely cover it. A small amount is usually enough to create noticeable sparkle.

Pour Gently Over the Mold Details
Pouring directly onto dry-brushed mica can push it away from the areas where you placed it. Pouring slowly over a spoon, spatula or stir stick helps soften the flow and preserve the decorative finish.

Allow the Bars to Fully Harden
Detailed rigid molds release much more easily once the soap has completely cooled and hardened. Trying to unmold too early can damage the edges or fine details of the snowflakes.

Package Melt & Pour Soap Promptly
Melt & Pour soap naturally attracts moisture from the surrounding air. Once completely cool, wrap the finished bars in plastic or shrink wrap to help protect their sparkling surface and minimize glycerin dew.
