Recommended Ingredients:

  • 220g GW 494 wax
  • 22g Fragrance or essential oil (10%)

Optional:

  • dried flowers, botanicals, Candle dye (liquid or chips), mica, glitter, crystals, seashells,

Recommended Utensils:

  • Silicone wax tablet mold (6 cavities, ~36g each)
  • Double boiler or wax melter
  • Thermometer
  • Scale
  • Aluminum Pouring Pot 1 lb
  • Stirring utensil
  • Ribbon

Directions:

  • Step 1: Using a double boiler, slowly melt your GW 494 wax to around 75°C (167°F). Stir gently.

  • Step 2: Let the wax cool to around 60–65°C (140–149°F) before adding your fragrance or essential oil. Add desired colorant and stir for about 1 minute to fully incorporate.

  • Step 3: Pour the scented wax into each cavity. Now swirl in some mica if desired . As the wax is starting to set, gently place your dried botanicals, glitter, or decorative embeds.

  • Step 4: Allow the tablets to cool undisturbed for 1–2 hours at room temperature until solid. Then unmold carefully.

  • Step 5: Thread a ribbon or string through the pre-made hole.

Curing Time & Scent Strength:

Your wax tablets can be used or gifted within 24–48 hours, but the fragrance will continue to cure and strengthen over the next 5–10 days as they hang in closets or drawers.

Pro tip: If you're making these for a market or gifts, cure them in a box away from direct sunlight for the first few days to lock in the scent.

How Long Do They Last?

Depending on the fragrance load and storage, wax tablets typically last 4–6 weeks. Stronger scents and closed spaces(like drawers or closets) will help them last even longer.

Usage:

Hang or place your wax tablets in small enclosed spaces like closets, drawers, linen cupboards, or near doorways to gently fragrance the area. They're a beautiful alternative to air fresheners and add a personal, handcrafted touch to any space.

Warning:

  • Do not melt, burn, or use in wax warmers—these are for scenting small spaces only.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Avoid placing near direct sunlight, heaters, or in hot environments (like cars), as the wax may soften or melt.
