Neem Oil
BCO-NEEM-250ML
Neem Oil is a rich carrier oil valued in skincare, hair care, and soapmaking applications. Valued for its rich fatty acid profile and emollient properties, neem oil is commonly used in creams, lotions, balms, salves, body oils, scalp care products, and hair treatments, where it helps support skin and hair conditioning. Neem Oil is often included in formulations designed to help soften the feel of dry skin and support a smooth, healthy-looking appearance while adding richness to finished products. The aroma of Neem Oil is distinctive, with earthy, vegetal, and sulfurous notes characteristic of unrefined, cold-pressed neem seed oil.
In cold process soap, Neem Oil contributes conditioning properties and is commonly used at lower percentages alongside other base oils. Its characteristic scent can carry through into finished soap, making it well suited for formulations where its natural aroma is desired or can be balanced with other fragrance ingredients.
Neem oil is cold pressed and is used all over the world in cosmetic skin care preparations, soaps and much more as it is rich in fatty acids and glycerides.
Neem Oil can be incorporated into a wide range of skincare, hair care, and soapmaking formulations where additional emollience and conditioning properties are desired. It is commonly used in creams, lotions, balms, salves, body oils, scalp treatments, hair oils, and cold process soap. Due to its rich texture and naturally strong aroma, Neem Oil is often blended with other carrier oils to achieve the desired skin feel and scent profile.
Typical usage levels based on common formulation practice:
• Creams & Lotions: 1–10%
• Balms & Salves: 2–20%
• Body Oils & Serums: 1–20%
• Hair Care Products: 1–10%
• Scalp Treatments & Hair Oils: 2–25%
• Cold Process Soap: 2–10% of total oils
For best results, add Neem Oil during the oil phase of emulsified formulations or blend directly into anhydrous products. In cold process soap, lower usage levels are often preferred due to its characteristic aroma.
