Process

1. Cotton Candy Rainbow Macaron with whipped filling outside the mold

Cut your White Melt and Pour Soap base into small cubes , weigh out 40g and melt in a microwave in 10 second burst. Be sure not to overheat the base if it boils over it means it burned and this will cause sweating in your final product.

When the base is fully melted, mix some isopropyl alcohol with 2 x 0.15cc scoops of Pacific Palisades and mix to your melt and pour soap until its well combined. The isopropyl Alcohol will help dispersing the mica into the soap that way you wont get little clumps on the bottom of your final product.

Now add 1g of Cotton Candy fragrance to your melted soap. Since we work with small amounts the soap base might harden very quickly so you may have to remelt it again carefully!

Pour your soap into the first cavity and only pour to the part where the whipped topping would start. Then pour in another cavity the same amount of soap so once hardened you end up with 2 cookie parts, spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol to pop any bubbles that accumulated. . Since its just a small amount the soap should be ready to unmold in about 15 min.

Unmold both cookie parts and lay them with the flat side up . Melt 20g of White Melt and Pour Soap, add 0.5g of Cotton Candy fragrance oil and mix well. I didn't add color to this as I like the contrast of blue and white. However note that the Cotton Candy fragrance has a small amount of Vanillin content and will eventually cause some browning in white soap over time. So feel free to use a mica to cover it.

Now quickly use the mini mixer to whip up the white soap base until it becomes a creamy texture and doubled in size. This may take a little while to get right and you may need to reheat the base. Since we work in small amounts it's difficult to use a piping bag . However if you make multiple macarons you can fill the whipped soap into a piping bag and pipe onto the cookie and squeeze both halves together!

For this single Macaron Cookie I just used a Popsicle stick to spread it on and squeeze both halves together, be sure to spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol on both halves to help the soap to adhere .

Now that we have a finished Macaron Cookie we can go ahead and paint it.

This step is optional but it will make your work more unique!  We used our Springtime Paint Palette which we sell in our retail store and will soon have online for painting the macaron.  You can also paint with any mica that is diluted with a bit of isopropyl alcohol to make it a liquid consistency.

For Cotton Candy I figured a rainbow with clouds would be a fun design so in a mini mixing cup mix a little Isopropyl Alcohol to 1 scoop of The iridescent Red Mica and paint 2 small clouds on your macaron cookie.  Don't forget to clean your brush with some paper towel between each color . Now add curved lines of the Purple, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Pink from the palette to paint a rainbow!

Once you're happy with your design, let it dry and then you can package it. A single macaron would look amazing in one of our 3" x 4" Organza Bags, there are many colors to choose from and it makes the perfect gift or party favor!

2. Blood Orange Thyme Marmalade Macaron with whipped filling inside the mold

Cut your White Melt and Pour Soap base into small cubes , weigh out 40g and melt in a microwave in 10 second bursts.

When the base is fully melted, mix some isopropyl alcohol with 2 x 0.15cc scoops of Mystic Mandarin Mica and mix to your melt and pour soap until it's well combined.

Now add 1g of Blood Orange Thyme Marmalade fragrance to your melted soap.

Pour your soap into the first cavity and only pour to the part where the whipped topping would start.  Spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol to pop any bubbles that accumulated and let the soap harden for about 5 min. Meanwhile, melt 20g of White Melt and Pour Soap, add 0.5g of Blood Orange Thyme and Marmalade fragrance oil and mix well. Add 2 x 0.15cc scoops of the Rosy Red Mica mixed in Isopropyl alcohol and pour into the melted soap , now mix until well combined.

Now quickly use the mini mixer to whip up the soap base until it becomes a creamy texture and doubled in size. Spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol into the mold cavity containing your first layer and pour the whipped soap into the cavity as well . Watch out to only fill it to where the whipped part in the mold ends and the bottom part of the cookie starts. Wait about 5 min for it to harden. Now remelt the leftover Soap base from the first layer, spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol and pour on top of the 2nd layer (whipped base). Spritz some alcohol and wait about 15 min for the soap to fully cool down.

It's time to unmold the cookie and decorate !

Again, this step is optional. We used mica that is diluted with a bit of isopropyl alcohol to make it a liquid consistency.

For this Macaron I went with 2 crossing paint streaks on the top part of the cookie. I used Tangerine Dream Mica from the Spring Time Palette to paint the streaks onto the cookie. Once the paint dried , I went ahead and melted 15g of Clear Soap Base to use as ‘’Glue’’. You could use the white base as well or even some leftover colored base from the top and bottom layer. But clear will look best for this step.

Pour a little of the melted clear base onto the cookie where the 2 streaks cross and then immediately sprinkle some Granulated Orange Peel on the clear soap and let it fully cool down before packaging.

3. Rose Cake Macaron Simple Pour

Cut your White Melt and Pour Soap base into small cubes , weigh out 40g and melt in a microwave in 10 second bursts.

When the base is fully melted, mix some isopropyl alcohol with 2 x 0.15cc scoops of Rosy Red Mica and mix to your melt and pour soap until it's well combined.

Now add 1g of Rose Cake fragrance to your melted soap.

Pour your soap into the first cavity and only pour to the part where the whipped topping would start.  Spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol to pop any bubbles that accumulated and let the soap harden for about 5 min.

Meanwhile, melt 20g of White Melt and Pour Soap, add 0.5g of Rose Cake fragrance oil and mix well. Add 2 x 0.15cc scoops of the Mystic Mandarin Mica mixed in Isopropyl alcohol and pour into the melted soap , now mix until well combined.

Spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol into the mold cavity containing your first layer and pour the second soap layer into the cavity as well . Watch out to only fill it to where the whipped part in the mold ends and the bottom part of the cookie starts. Wait about 5 min for it to harden.

Now remelt the leftover Soap base from the first layer , spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol and pour on top of the 2nd layer Spritz some alcohol and wait about 15 min for the soap to fully cool down.

It's time to unmold the cookie and decorate!

Again, this step is optional. We used mica that is diluted with a bit of isopropyl alcohol to make it a liquid consistency.

For the Rose Cake Macaron I went ahead and painted a Heart onto the Soap using Tangerine Dream mica from the Springtime Paint Palette and added a couple heart shaped sugar sprinkles!

Once the paint dried , I went ahead and melted 15g of Clear Soap Base to use as ‘’Glue’’. Pour a little of the melted clear base onto the side of the cookie and then immediately add heart sprinkles on the clear soap and let it fully cool down before packaging.

If you make multiple Macarons they would look great packed into one of our 4" x 6" Organza Bags or one of our mini kraft gable boxes filled with some colorful basket shred.
