The Cream Starter Base makes it easy for crafters to create their own personalized lotions and creams without having to make an emulsion completely from scratch. It takes care of the more technical emulsifying step for you, giving you a thick, ready-to-customize base made with emulsifying waxes, distilled water and preservative.

Perfect for DIY body care projects, the Cream Starter Base gives you the freedom to choose the ingredients you love and create something uniquely your own. Add your favourite carrier oils, botanical oils, vitamins, proteins and additional water to adjust the richness and consistency of your finished creation.

Create a lighter everyday lotion, a rich and nourishing body cream, or experiment with different ingredient combinations to develop your own custom blend. It’s a simple and approachable way to explore lotion and cream making while still enjoying the creativity of choosing your ingredients and making the finished product yourself.

The Cream Starter Base is a thick emulsifier starter base designed with the crafter in mind. An easy way to customize a lotion or cream. It provides a solid foundation that can be tailored to your preferences by incorporating additional oils, vitamins, proteins, and water or floral water until you achieve the desired consistency.

Since the base is composed of emulsifying waxes, distilled water, and a preservative, it may initially have a lumpy, thick texture until the other ingredients are fully incorporated. To achieve a smooth, even consistency, we recommend placing the base in a bowl or container, adding your selected ingredients, and using an immersion or electric hand mixer. No additional heating of the base is required.
Depending on the ingredients you add, you can incorporate up to 20% additional ingredients, but the overall stability will depend on whether the ingredients are oil-soluble or water-soluble, as well as the viscosity you're aiming for. We suggest starting with a lower percentage and adjusting to create your own unique formulation.
