Black Biodegradable Glitter

Biodegradable Glitter is a great choice for a wide variety of DIY projects, including bath bombs, body scrubs, skin and hair products, body art, makeup and nail looks, resin crafts, wax melts, and soap.

These ultra-fine glitters can be used as a decorative surface finish or incorporated directly into formulations, depending on the application and the sparkle effect you’d like to achieve.

• In cold process and melt & pour soap making, Biodegradable Glitter is commonly sprinkled onto the surface for visual impact, or gently mixed into the product just before pouring.
• In cosmetic and nail formulations, the fine particle size allows for smooth dispersion when properly blended into compatible bases, such as our Crystal Clear Body Gel Base.
• For general craft projects, these glitters can also be used to add shimmer to cards, décor, and other creative applications, and may be suitable for select resin art projects where the resin system is compatible.
• Biodegradable Glitter can be used in certain candle and wax melt applications, especially as a decorative surface finish. Since this type of glitter is primarily cellulose-based, it will typically burn down more like a natural material (similar to paper) rather than melting like conventional plastic glitter, which may soften, clump, or leave residue in the wax. For best results, apply a light sprinkle to the top of wax melts or the surface of container candles once the wax has started to set, rather than mixing large amounts throughout the wax. Avoid placing glitter too close to the wick, as excess decorative materials near the flame may affect how the candle burns. Always test a small batch first to confirm appearance and burn performance in your specific wax and fragrance system.

Since cellulose-based glitters are not solvent resistant and may not be suitable in certain solvent systems, we recommend testing a small amount in your specific nail polish base (or other solvent-based products) to confirm stability, appearance, and performance before scaling up. For best results, mix gently for even distribution and avoid high-shear processing, which may affect the glitter’s visual appearance. Always test in small batches to evaluate suitability for your application.
