Cedarwood Virginian Essential Oil
EO-CDRWD-VA-5ML
Cedarwood Virginian Essential Oil offers a warm, dry, woody aroma with soft balsamic undertones and a subtle smoky sweetness that brings depth and grounding to natural formulations. Steam distilled from the wood of Virginian cedar, this essential oil is valued in personal care, soap making, perfumery, and aromatherapy for its rich, tenacious character and versatility in blending.
Often used in skin care, hair care, beard care, and scalp-focused formulations, Cedarwood Virginian Essential Oil is appreciated for adding a smooth woody note to natural perfumes, soaps, shampoos, lotions, massage blends, and home fragrance products. It blends especially well with citrus, florals, resins, and other woods, pairing beautifully with lavender, rosemary, bergamot, frankincense, patchouli, and sandalwood.
In aromatherapy applications, its grounding, centering aroma is often chosen to help create calm, restorative blends with an earthy, forest-inspired character. Its dry woody profile also makes it a popular natural anchor note in fragrance compositions, helping round out and support more delicate top and middle notes.
Directions:
For aromatherapy, add a few drops of Cedarwood Virginian Essential Oil to your diffuser to create a grounding, calming atmosphere with a fresh woody aroma.
In soap making, incorporate approximately 1–3% of the total formula weight in cold process soap at light trace, or add to melt and pour soap just prior to pouring.
For lotions, creams, balms, beard oils, hair care, and scalp care formulations, add during the cool-down phase or pre-blend with a carrier oil for even distribution.
In candle and home fragrance applications, use according to the recommended fragrance load for your wax or base. We typically use approximately 6% Essential Oil as a starting point in our waxes.
Cedarwood Virginian is also well suited to natural perfumery and solid fragrance applications, where its dry woody profile can add depth and act as a grounding base note.
For all personal care and home fragrance applications, refer to the current IFRA Certificate for maximum recommended usage levels by product category and adjust according to your specific formulation.
