Tips:

  • When using Black Oxide in Mineral Makeup Products, the colour can be added directly to your base.
  • In Melt & Pour Soap, you must first add the colour to a small amount of liquid glycerin and mix the colourant. You can then add the desired amount of colourant to your soap base. If your soap bubbles are not white it means you have added to much of the colourant.
  • In Cold Process Soap, mix your desired amount of colourant with a small amount of your soap oils, a lightweight carrier oil, liquid glycerin or warm water, before adding the colourant to your soap at a light trace.

Storage: We suggest storing in an airtight container in a cool, dark location.

Caution: Approved in general cosmetics, eye and lip products. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not inhale.

Terrible mess

I’m not sure why this is recommended for bath bombs. I used it to paint only the smallest amount on a white bath bomb (eyes of a snowman) and when used in the bath, even that tiny amount of mica made huge black streaks on my skin and in the bath. I also tried it mixed into a bath bomb to see if it would stain less mixed in with the other ingredients but NO! It looked like I had bathed with a charcoal BBQ! Black everywhere! It comes off skin fairly easily with soap, but it looks like my bathtub is permanently stained.

We Don't Need A New Black

A good black, giving shades of grey all the way to black, depending on how much is used. Stays in suspension well. Used it in cold process soap.
