How to use the NatraFresh Aire Odour Eliminating DIY Home Spray Base

Ingredients:
- NatraFresh Aire Room Spray Base
- Fragrance or Essential Oils (up to 12%)

Supplies:
- Measuring spoons or a digital scale
- Mixing container (glass or plastic)
- Spray bottles (Solid colour recommended to protect product from UV Light)
- Stirring utensil (spoon or stir stick)

Instructions:
1. Prepare Your Workspace:
- Ensure your workspace is clean and free from any contaminants.
- Gather all your ingredients and supplies.

2. Calculate the Amount of Fragrance or Essential Oils:
- The NatraFresh Aire Room Spray Base will solubilize up to 12% scent. However, since each fragrance oil and essential oil is unique, it is recommended to test the maximum percentage that can be held within the base for each specific scent.

3. Measure the Fragrance or Essential Oils:
- For best manufacturing practices, we recommend measuring your ingredients by weight using a digital scale. If using liquid measuring cups and spoons, we recommend you use under the recommended maximum scent load to ensure it will solubilize within the base and that you do not exceed that recommended maximum 12%.

4. Add Fragrance or Essential Oils to the Base: - Add the appropriate amount of NatraFresh Aire Room Spray Base to the mixing container.
- Pour the measured fragrance or essential oils into the mixing container.

5. Mix the Ingredients:
- Stir the mixture thoroughly until the fragrance or essential oils are fully incorporated into the base. The mixture should show no signs of separation.

6. Fill the Spray Bottles:
- Carefully pour the mixture into your spray bottles using a funnel if needed.
- Secure the spray tops on the bottles.

8. Test the Spray:
- Spray a small amount on your desired application to test the scent and ensure it's to your liking.

Tips:
- Always perform a patch test to ensure no adverse reactions to the fragrance or essential oils, especially on linens and upholstery.
- Store the finished in a cool, dark place to maintain its freshness and potency. Package in solid colour bottles to avoid exposure to UV Light.

FORMULATING TIP:

The solubilizer present in the product can accommodate various amounts of fragrance or essential oils, with the manufacturer suggesting a capacity of up to 12%. However, this capacity can vary significantly depending on the specific oil used.

In our tests, some fragrances were able to exceed the 12% threshold without issues, while others were not. Additionally, the reaction of the individual fragrance or essential oil can cause cloudiness or color changes.

If there is a need to use a particular fragrance at a concentration higher than what the solubilizer can support, it's advisable to pre-mix the fragrance with Polysorbate 20 before adding it to the base. This method enhances the solubilizing capacity without impairing the effectiveness of the base's odour-neutralizing properties.
