Technical Information

Technical Information:

  • INCI: Fragrance (Parfum)
  • Flashpoint: 80°C / 176°F
  • Vanillin Content: 5 - 10%
  • This Fragrance Oil is Paraben and Phthalate Free

Behaviour in Cold Process Soap:

  • Consistency Change: Accelerates trace
  • Colour Change: Turns uncoloured soap dark brown
  • Additional Notes: In Cold Process Soap we recommend using fragrances at a lower soap making temperature, approximately 110°F, and adding the fragrance at a light trace. We test our fragrance oils using a soap formula that does not trace quickly at a soap making temperature of 110°F. As soap formulas can vary, we recommend customers do their own small test batch to ensure the fragrance performs well in their own formula.

great smell, terrible for CP

Smells just like root beer. I was excited to make this into a CP soap for kids and I read the technical info first and all it says is that is accelerates trace so I prepped for that. I decided not to put any fragrance into the top fluffy white beer part and only fragrance the bottom brown part, however as soon as I poured this fragrance into the soap, it riced really bad, like huge chunks of hard soaps with the more fluid soap, which I've never experienced before, plus it thickened up quickly so I found it difficult to trouble shoot. I hope the "ricing" pieces melt back into the finished soap but I poured it with chunks so I don't know if its going to look chunky as a finished bar. I really wish Voyageur staff took the time to write proper technical info on their webpage because it would be really helpful for their customers! I've had more than a few issues with difference fragrances from Voyageur because they don't give the correct info, which I find very frustrating. The company should have the right info, it shouldn't be up to other soapers to provide this info for other soapers! Its says its CP friendly, I don't think it is! Too many issues to tend with, which is disappointing because it smells wonderful!

Got it to work in CP soap

After reading reviews I decided to try using this fragrance in cp soap. I didn’t discount water which I normally do. My oils were at 85 and lye water was at 95. I had my mold ready right beside the pot. I just did a couple bursts with my blender to get emulsion then added fragrance. It started to rice a little but I just hand stirred a little then poured. I used a chop stick to blend it a little more in the mold. I will update after a month on scent retention.

Smells great but fail

Absolutely amazing FO. I have gotten this FO to work but ricing and seizing don’t make it worth my time.

Love this scent!

I have used this fragrance in several batches and love the smell before and after. I have found that it begins to seize almost immediately upon adding the fragrance, so be prepared to work very fast.

Yummmmm

Smells just like root beer. In time does discolour cp soap so I used espresso mica so that you can’t see the soap discolour. Soaped at room temp and didn’t have a prob with ricing and seizing.
In bath bombs in time it will discolour to a brown or have brown specs throughout. I used black lake to combat the discolouration
