TESTING IN PROCESS

  • Additional Notes: In Cold Process Soap we recommend using fragrances at a lower soap making temperature, approximately 110°F, and adding the fragrance at a light trace. We test our fragrance oils using a soap formula that does not trace quickly at a soap making temperature of 110°F. As soap formulas can vary, we recommend customers do their own small test batch to ensure the fragrance performs well in their own formula.

Separated

Lovely fragrance - I soaped cool and slow and things looked fine but it separated in the mold. Poured it out and was able to stick blend it together but it riced pretty badly. Ended up with usable soap but it’s not pretty at all. I might keep use this one only for body scrubs and bath bombs because it smells amazing, a very good dupe.

NOT For Cold Process Soap

Had been using Rose Jam FO from another company since 2008 with excellent results in CP soap. It was part of an EO/FO blend at aprox 15%. The other company discontinued their FO, so I purchased the Voyageur version. Bad Idea!

I expected things to move floral-fast, but did not expect the complete separation that occurred. When I remade the soap without the same fragrance blend minus the Rose Jam FO, the soap turned out perfectly.

I have included images of the soap made a couple of years ago, as well as the problematic batch.

I like the scent, but it doesn't work well in CP soap.

Can’t stop smelling

Love this scent. No problems soaping with it, just a little unfortunate it darkens your soap but worth it for that smell.
